"Eastern mining and processing plant is the only enterprise in Ukraine on extraction of uranium-bearing ore. We cannot allow the country to lose this unique plant and highly skilled workers," said Olga Buslovich.
Among the problems faced by the company: wage arrears, debts for energy resources and the threat of a power outage. The debts arose, in particular, for non-payment of NNEGC "Energoatom" for the products that the company purchases from Vostok.
"This happens due to the crisis that we are seeing in the energy sector. Under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister runs the Crisis management headquarters, which worked out all the necessary measures to stabilize the situation in the electricity market," explained Buslovich.
According to the results of the meeting guide VostGOK together with trade unions should develop proposals that would address existing problems and prevent them in the future and a plan to improve the efficiency of the enterprise, and in a short time to submit them to the Ministry. VostGOK is among the ten largest uranium producers (2% of world production) and provides up to 40% of the needs in uranium for Ukrainian nuclear power plants. Enterprise has productionmi barbAMI in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions, incorporates a three uranium mines, three processing plant, about 20 support personnel.
