State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources of Ukraine announced about an attempt to disrupt the auction for the sale of a lithium ore deposit in the Donetsk region.
“Today there is a significant demand for“ metals of the future ”on the world market, which includes lithium. Ukraine can become a serious player in the European market for the extraction of this mineral, because it has significant reserves and resources, ”says the chairman of Derzhgeonadr Roman Opimakh.
E-auction for the Shevchenkovskoye field with an area of 39.84 hectares was under threat of cancellation. The C1 category lithium ore reserves are 5.671 million tons, C2 category reserves - over 8 million tons. Available accompanying minerals - tantalum, niobium, beryllium ores.
Another site with deposits of lithium ores and oxides of tantalum, niobium, rubidium, cesium, beryllium is located in the Kirovograd region. Its area is 300 hectares. It is being worked out for further putting up for e-auction for geological exploration and experimental-industrial development.
“We have prepared two lithium objects for auctions. But, unfortunately, through the courts, open tenders are blocked on the basis of obtaining a special permit outside the auction. This is done in order not to pay a fair price, which is set by open competitive bidding, ”he said.
Gosgeonedra sent corresponding letters to the Office of the Prosecutor General with a request to join the above cases, as a third party on the side of the state.
