TMK has manufactured large-size containers for industrial fire extinguishing systems

TMK Steel Technologies, part of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), has produced containers for the emergency fire extinguishing system of metallurgical production. Equipment capable of operating in the event of a power outage will be installed at the site of the heating furnace in the hot rolling workshop of the customer company.

The 15 and 75 cubic meter containers weigh 4 and 11 tons, respectively. The development of design documentation was carried out by the engineering center of the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant (ChelPipe), a branch of TMK, and the full cycle of manufacturing, assembly, and acceptance testing was carried out by TMK Steel Technologies specialists.

The design service life of the equipment is 20 years. It is used as hydraulic accumulators and provides fast water supply to the fire zone. At the same time, the 15 cubic meter tank operates on the principle of a water tower: it is constantly filled and located at a height, and in case of emergency de-energization of the workshop, it supplies water by gravity, which guarantees the continuity of the fire extinguishing system. To protect against high temperatures, fasteners for the thermal insulation shell are provided on the housings.
