Kaslinsky Architectural and Artistic Casting Plant (LLC "KZAKHL", part of the Mechel Group) cast a cast-iron Chess pavilion for the V.
I. Lenin Park in Belgorod. The pavilion was created for a total of three years. The grand opening of this building took place on Belgorod City Day. This was reported in the press service of the plant.

The pavilion, decorated with stylized chess pieces, is a 9 x 12 m (108 sq. m.) building. m) with a marble floor and a gable roof with copper tiles. The pavilion is designed for year-round chess games. Inside there is a covered area with panoramic windows for the cold season and an outdoor summer veranda. Both zones can accommodate up to 50 players, and the soft lighting of the chess tables will allow for evening games.
All the supporting elements of the building are cast from cast iron — 12 columns in the form of giant chess pieces, brackets connecting all the pillars to the perimeter colonnade, and lace pediments. The cast-iron elements are mounted on a steel frame and look like a solid cast structure.
"We hope that, thanks to the originality of the design, the wealth of plastic solutions and the high professionalism of the Kaslin craftsmen, the Chess Pavilion will become one of the attractions of Belgorod," said Anatoly Salagor, General Director of KZAHL LLC.Vyacheslav Gladkov, Governor of the Belgorod Region, proposed the idea of creating a cast-iron Chess pavilion in 2021.
The preliminary design of the building and the detailed design of all the ornamental compositions were carried out by Chelyabinsk architect-restorer Alexander Dyachkov, the columns in the form of chess pieces were created by St. Petersburg sculptor Yaroslav Barkov.
