ESR technology makes it possible to obtain high-quality steels and alloys that retain their properties even under prolonged exposure to high temperatures, pressure and radiation.

The new equipment of the plant (part of the Rosatom Machine–building Division) will make it possible to increase the production of special steels using electroslag remelting technology by 3.5 times - up to 25,000 tons of ingots with a diameter of up to 2 meters and weighing up to 80 tons per year and expand the range of blanks of equipment, the quality and reliability of which are subject to increased requirements.

When creating the new production complex, the original design solutions of Russian engineers were used, which will reduce the consumption of materials and electricity. Bringing the production complex to full capacity will create additional jobs at the plant.

The plant is the only Russian manufacturer of metallurgical blanks for products of the nuclear industry. Illustrative photo: "AEM-Specialstal".

The AEM-Spetstal plant was established as a separate enterprise in 2002 on the basis of the Izhora metallurgical complex. The plant manufactures metallurgical blanks for nuclear, thermal and hydroelectric power, oil and gas and metallurgical industries.

The metallurgists of the plant are the only specialists in Russia capable of producing ingots weighing 443 tons.
