The agreed technical specifications became the final stage of the work of OMK, Gazprom and Gazprom VNIIGAZ within the framework of the development of the production of pipe products of the metallurgical company from steel of strength class K70.
High-strength connecting parts with welded adapter rings are designed for the construction of new-generation pipelines that can withstand ultra-high operating pressure of 150 atmospheres. "These are fundamentally new products for the market," OMK noted
OMK had previously developed and mastered the production of the entire range of large-diameter K70 pipes. The company explained that innovative connecting parts of different sizes can be used in Gazprom's design solutions.
According to Pavel Stepanov, OMK's Director of Technology and Product Development, the company is now ready to offer Gazprom a comprehensive solution. All products come with an increased carbon equivalent value, so it would be extremely difficult to weld the joints of such products in the field. Therefore, OMK offers its partner ready-made parts with K70 strength class rings, which are assembled in the factory, Stepanov added.
