The modernization allows for operational preparation for the subsequent production of drill pipes due to the improvement of their manufacturing technology.

The new correct press corrects possible deformations of drill pipes, including their curvature, which completely eliminates the appearance of defects during welding of drill locks to these pipes.

The integration of the equipment into the production chain was carried out by the TAGMET design department, including designing the mechanization of loading and unloading pipes for processing, as well as providing electricity.

Modernization of the process of creating drill pipes with welded locks is part of TMK's investment program, said Viktor Novikov, Managing Director of TAGMET.

"These improvements are designed to ensure high-quality steel pipes used in the oil and gas industry at low temperatures and in environments containing hydrogen sulfide. The commissioning of the new correct press continues the consistent modernization of the finishing part of the TAGMET pipe rolling plant, which will support the status of our company as a reliable supplier of pipe products."

Earlier, TAGMET commissioned a new coupling phosphation site, which makes it possible to double the output of couplings with a wear—resistant antifriction coating, which increases the resistance of pipeline parts to aggressive environments, up to 1,000 units per shift.
