“Ukraine and the UK have legally secured the abolition of import duties and tariff quotas in bilateral trade by signing an agreement. It will be valid for 12 months, but can be extended by agreement between the parties for a new period,” the message says.
It is expected that, thanks to the agreement, Ukrainian business will be able to increase exports of high value-added goods to the UK in the future, including flour, grain, dairy products, poultry meat and semi-finished products, tomato paste, honey, corn, wheat, juices, mushrooms , sugar.
The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine notes that this will not only contribute to the development of Ukrainian production, but also increase the inflow of foreign exchange earnings and strengthen the country's economy.
As reported, at the end of April, the UK announced the abolition of all duties and quotas on the import of Ukrainian goods.
In addition, on April 27, the European Commission proposed to suspend import duties on all Ukrainian exports to the EU countries for a year. We are talking about all industrial and agricultural duties and quotas, the system of entry prices, anti-dumping and protective duties.
