Ukrainian energy holding DTEK plans to develop LNG trade in Europe

D.Trading, the European trading division of the energy holding DTEK, plans to enter the European LNG market, as well as hire more workers, establishing closer ties with Europe. This is reported by BNN Bloomberg, citing the words of D.Trading CEO Ivan Gelyukh.

The company plans to attract up to 12 new people to trade natural gas, electricity and fuel by the end of the year. Currently, the company employs about 60 traders in 4 offices, including in Kyiv and Amsterdam. In the longer term, D.Trading plans to create a separate LNG trading department.

“Our plan is to contribute to European energy security. We now have a large portfolio of clients in Ukraine, so the next step is to build a team and develop our capabilities throughout the region,” said Gelyukh.

Expanding the company’s activities in Europe will help strengthen Ukraine’s connections with the wider energy market and increase the security of electricity and gas supplies in war conditions. In addition, high volatility in European markets will allow you to make greater profits from trading.
