"ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" has started hot testing solernou line at light-section mill No. 250-4

In the second half of December "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" has begun hot-testing of a new production line of rebars with solernou wound on the small-section mill No. 250-4. This stage signifies the completion of a large-scale modernization of the mill, which for this year was carried out by the company together with Italian company Danieli. According to the revised data, the investment in this project exceeded 60 million dollars.

Thanks to the reconstruction of the camp at the "ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog" has the opportunity to produce rebar No. 8-24 in riots with solernou winding. This is a new product in the product mix of the enterprise which will allow you to open a new market. The use of rebar in coils provides significant savings to consumers, since the cutting of reinforcing bars such waste is virtually eliminated. Commissioning and certification of the mill for the production of new products will continue in January and February 2020. The manufacture of armature coils for sale will begin at the end of the first quarter of 2020.

in Addition to the installation of the line solernou winding, the reconstruction of the small-section mill No. 250-4 also included the construction of a modern heating furnace with a capacity of up to 200 tons per hour, extra five roughing stands, and the construction of a new packing line reinforcement bars. The new equipment will allow the mill to increase the production of valves from cast billets. New heating furnace in which you can easily change the heating mode will give the possibility to optimize energy consumption, which in turn will help to reduce the impact on the environment.

Before the reconstruction light section mill No. 250-4 could produce products only from square billet with a cross-section 80x80 mm, which was produced in the workshop of blooming on old technologies. Now the mill will produce rebar from billet 130x130 mm and 150x150 mm are obtained on new machines continuous casting. Thus, the "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" will be able to expand its product range and offer on the markets of metal products with high quality.
