"Zaporizhstal" in the framework of the implemented project for the exchange of secondary gases with "Zaporozhkoks" for three years has reduced natural gas consumption by 240 million cubic meters.
Recall that in 2016, the "Zaporizhstal" steel works has upgraded gas lines and gas appliances on the supply of coke oven gas from the "Zaporozhkoks" (the investment amounted to 75 million hryvnia), which allowed us to go to constaninou and natural domain of a mixture of rolling shops of the plant (crimp, shop hot rolling thin sheet), as well as combined heat and power. The economic effect for three years from the implementation of the project amounted to about 1.4 billion.
"Managing energy intensity of production gives the opportunity to increase the company's competitiveness, especially with the rising energy prices. In three years, thanks to the exchange project secondary gases, the plant significantly reduced the consumption of natural gas in the production", – said General Director of "Zaporizhstal" Aleksandr Mironenko.
in addition, coke oven gas, obtained with the "Zaporozhkoks", was used to generate electricity in combined heat and power: in 2016, the works has developed 38 million kW⋅h< / span>, reducing costs of purchased electricity by more than 140 million hryvnia.
