In the converter shop of the Azovstal metallurgical plant of Metinvest Group, the preparatory phase of the reconstruction of gas purifiers for converters Nos. 1 and 2 is in the active phase. The design solutions were developed by Primetals Technologies Austria GmbH. After the completion of the reconstruction and installation of new equipment, fugitive emissions above the converter compartment will be localized.
The reconstruction project developed by Primetals Technologies Austria GmbH provides for the transition from a wet gas cleaning system to a dry one, the installation of special shelters for doghouses to localize fugitive emissions during the casting of cast iron and scrap filling with their subsequent cleaning in a bag filter.
Metinvest Engineering LLC is the general contractor. To date, the project is underway to reconstruct the overpass of energy resources and to erect metal structures. The work on concreting the foundations of the overpass was completed, the trusses of the new overpass and pipelines were partially assembled. The main equipment for gas cleaning is being purchased.
