Severstal's Charitable Foundation "The Way Home" received a subsidy from the Government of the Vologda Region, winning a competition for socially oriented non-profit organizations.
This amount and Severstal's funds will be used to help pregnant women in Cherepovets, those in difficult life situations and in need of social and psychological assistance.
The partners of the Road Home Charity Foundation in this project are the Cherepovets City Maternity Hospital and the Department for Organization of Medical Assistance in the city of Cherepovets. They provide information, organizational and consulting services to expectant mothers. Thanks to comprehensive support, women learn how to behave in childbirth, care for newborns and create a safe environment for raising a child. They also increase parental competence and learn about government support measures. Every year, the specialists and partners of the Road Home Foundation prevent more than 50% of reported abandonment of newborns.
“As our experience shows, in most cases, timely and competently structured professional support for a pregnant woman reduces the risk of placing a child in the care of the state in the future. Attracting a government subsidy to the project will help us to conduct individual classes for expectant mothers using a complex with biofeedback (BFB). In individual lessons, pregnant women will learn to control their psycho-emotional and physical state, ”explained Ekaterina Frygina, director of the Road to Home CF.
