On November 27, 2023, the VIII Republican professional skill Championship "WorldSkills Kazakhstan 2023" ended at the Expo International Exhibition Center in Astana. ESAB, together with its strategic partner Welding Company, sponsored two competencies: "welding technologies" and "body repair".
545 young professionals and more than 500 experts from all regions of the country took part in the VIII Republican Championship. During four competitive days, college students demonstrated their knowledge and skills in 30 competencies, including brickwork, body repair, IT solutions for business, welding technologies and others.
20 novice welders took part in the "welding technologies" competence. During the competition, young specialists demonstrated not only theoretical knowledge, but also knowledge of the basics of manual arc, mechanized and non-melting electrode welding in a protective gas environment. According to the results of the competition, experts carried out not only visual control of welding seams, but also evaluated the tightness of the structure.
ESAB presented ESAB Rebel™ EMP 320ic and Caddy® Tig 2200i AC/DC devices, as well as welding materials, accessories and personal protective equipment for the competition. In particular, the rebel™ EMP 320IC welding machine is suitable for intensive work with all types of solid and powder wires, and thanks to the sMIG function, the equipment constantly adapts to welding techniques and is ideal for both experienced welders and novice specialists. Also, to ensure protection from dangerous radiation during competitive tasks, the company has equipped all welding stations with special curtains.
According to the results of the Republican Championship, all participants received ESAB memorable prizes. Yuri Shayakhmetov and Zhaksilik Baisheriev were the first in the competence of welding technologies, while Beksultan Turgankul took the third place. At the award ceremony, the young champions were solemnly awarded diplomas, and the winners received ESAB lhn 250i Plus inverter welding machines.
