JSC NIKI Tomsk (part of the Cable Alliance Holding, which united the cable assets of UMMC) has patented its exclusive development - an electric cable for installations of submersible electric pumps.
We are talking about the structures of an oil submersible cable with long-term permissible core heating temperature 130 ° C and 140 ° C. These products are manufactured at the Sibkabel plant, have three conductive cores and basic insulation made of heat-resistant block copolymer. A protective layer made of extruded fluoroplastic is applied over the outer layer of insulation. It is hermetically sealed and protects the basic insulation well from the effects of aggressive substances at elevated temperatures. This is followed by a general winding made of nonwoven fabric and armor that protects the cable from mechanical damage.
“Fluoroplastics have high thermal stability in the temperature range from 140 to 250 ° C, high dielectric properties and high chemical resistance. The protective layer, made of fluoroplastic by extrusion, has increased strength and durability. The high performance of the protective layer and the main insulation of the conductive cores in aggregate makes it possible to increase the operating temperature of the cable, its reliability and service life, "the patent description says.
The cable design is already in demand from oil companies. “We got good feedback from the customer on the cable design. Currently, his batch, shipped in early summer, is in operation. We assume that the demand for these products will only grow, since the oil industry makes higher demands on the quality, reliability and service life of cable products. Oil production conditions are becoming more and more difficult, and serial cable designs can no longer cover all the needs of the industry, ”said Denis Patlin, head of the cable bureau for installations of submersible electric pumps at Sibkabel JSC.
It should be added that in August of this year the plant upgraded equipment for the production of oil-submersible cables, which will increase the volume of production of products with a fluoroplastic sheath.
