Today, within the framework of his visit to the Skolkovo innovation center, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev visited the Scientific and Technical Center (STC) of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) and the Sinara Group. Together with him, the center was also visited by Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Rumas, Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sargsyan.
During an excursion led by Chairman of the Board of Directors of TMK, President Sinara Group Dmitry Pumpyansky, the guests were shown research laboratories designed to study and develop new materials with increased strength and reliability, including special steels and alloys. The equipment used in the laboratories, including high-precision microscopes, spectrographs and instruments for physical and chemical methods of analysis, makes it possible to solve complex problems along the entire chain of development, testing and commercialization of new products.
The guests got acquainted with the only complex of stands for full-scale physical tests of pipes, pipe connections and other complex structures. The stands are designed for research with the possibility of stretching, compression, bending with the application of high external and internal pressure and the creation of extreme temperature conditions. The emergence of such equipment will accelerate the launch of innovative products on the market by developing technology, making prototypes and conducting research, certification and qualification tests according to international standards.
The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and his colleagues also visited the corporate auditorium university, designed to provide training of promising personnel for high-tech sectors of the Russian economy.
“TMK and the Sinara Group have created a unique research center with the most modern research equipment. For the first time, Russian manufacturers were able to remove their dependence on key tests that previously had to be carried out abroad. Thus, we have consolidated our place at the forefront of the global pipe industry - both in terms of production capabilities and in terms of scientific and technical potential, ”noted Dmitry Pumpyansky.
STC TMK and Sinara Group is a new an element of the Skolkovo innovation center ecosystem, which will create high-tech jobs and provide unique opportunities for professional growth to new generations of Russian engineers and researchers. The center is equipped with a modern testing and laboratory complex and is intended primarily for the development, digital modeling and complex testing of innovative materials, structures and technologies. It will employ about 400 employees, scientists and researchers.
