All major TMK enterprises have received a Comprehensive environmental permit

All the main sites of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) have received a Comprehensive Environmental Permit (CER), a single document that regulates the amount of permissible environmental impact per unit of output. Obtaining the CER confirms that the technological processes, equipment and production methods of TMK plants correspond to the best available technologies (BAT).

The CER is issued in accordance with the Federal Law "On Environmental Protection" and replaces a number of permits that were issued earlier. The Taganrog Metallurgical Plant (TAGMET) was the first of TMK's enterprises to receive KER in October 2021. In October 2023, the Volga Pipe Plant (VTZ) received a CER for the landfill of industrial waste, and in 2024 — for the main production site. Also in 2024, TMK's Ural enterprises, Pervouralsky Novotrubny (PNTZ), Seversky (STZ) and Sinarsky (SinTZ) pipe plants, as well as the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant (ChelPipe) and TMK—INOX, received CER.

Obtaining the CER was preceded by the multi-stage work of the environmental services of the plants in close cooperation with all departments. It included an inventory of emission sources, calculation of technological standards for emissions and discharges, waste generation and limits on their disposal, development of programs for improving environmental efficiency, industrial environmental control, a program for creating an automatic control system, monitoring the state and pollution of the environment, and other initiatives.

"TMK's environmental policy is aimed at not only minimizing the impact on the environment and ensuring its safety, but also qualitatively improving the environmental situation. The company is ready to assume obligations in this regard, as well as to confirm the conformity of production with all necessary requirements and documents. Therefore, TMK has been systematically working to obtain CER at its enterprises for two years. After obtaining permits, we will continue to develop the production culture and apply the best available technologies, improve the company's approaches and principles in the field of ecology, which are based on the best global environmental practices," said Boris Pyankov, Deputy General Director and Technical Director of TMK.

TMK's environmental policy is based on three priorities. The first is a focus on eco—technology, which is expressed in the fact that the environmental agenda plays an essential role in product design, selection of raw materials, production technologies and partners. The second priority is eco—processes that can be integrated into production and equipment to reduce the burden on the environment and resource consumption.
