Pervouralsky Novotrubny Zavod (PNTZ), part of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), became the winner of the Russian Government's Quality Award in 2024. The prestigious award in the field of business excellence and the quality of the processes operating in the organization was presented at a ceremony in Moscow.
The Award Board noted the high results of PNTZ in the field of product quality and the effectiveness of implemented management methods based on the scores obtained as a result of the analysis of the plant's self-assessment report, as well as diagnostics of the company's production and social activities conducted by Roskachestvo specialists. The work of PNTZ was evaluated according to several criteria, which included leadership, policy and strategy, personnel, partnership, products, services and key results.
"TMK is constantly improving its quality system, and participation in the national award provides an opportunity to evaluate our efforts in this area, get acquainted with the best practices nationwide and apply them within the company's perimeter. In turn, the objective position of external experts who awarded a diploma to one of TMK's key enterprises is an additional confirmation of the company's commitment and competence to ensure the highest quality of products," said Anatoly Sychev, TMK's Director of Quality.
"In modern market conditions, PNTZ pays special attention to improving the quality of its products and the effective functioning of the quality management system, regularly confirming compliance with the requirements of international and domestic standards based on the results of inspections by certification bodies and consumers. Participation in the national award competition allowed the company not only to identify its strengths, such as relationships with partners and customers, and work with staff, but also to see areas for improvement. We will definitely take into account the recommendations of the experts received during the evaluation in order to improve our activities in this area," said Vladimir Toporov, Managing Director of PNTZ.
The Russian Government's Quality Award is awarded annually to organizations on a competitive basis. The diagnostics of organizations carried out by experts within the framework of the competition allows to get an objective idea of the level of managerial maturity of the organization, the implementation of the quality management system. This year, five organizations with more than 1,000 employees from different regions of the country received diplomas of the award.
Previously, TMK enterprises became laureates of the competition four times: in 2004 and 2022, it was awarded to Taganrog Metallurgical Plant (TAGMET), in 2016, Volzhsky became the winner.
