From July 28 to 31, 2025, the city of Chongqing (China), within the framework of the 6th Asia-Pacific Symposium on Explosive Technologies APS BLASTING, became a place to discuss best practices in the field of blasting, explosives and related solutions. The event, organized by the Chinese Society of Explosives and Blasting (CSEB), brought together more than 300 representatives of industry, science and education in the field of mining. The experience of developing and applying modern technologies by Russian companies aroused great interest among the participants.
The EVOBLAST Group, a developer of complex innovative solutions for drilling and blasting operations (BVR), shared practical cases of using electronic initiation systems (ESI) in conditions of extreme climatic influences. At the plenary session, Sergey Moser, CEO of EVOBLAST Engineering, presented projects demonstrating the flexibility and effectiveness of ESI for specific production purposes. For example, a comprehensive project on the use of electronic detonators in detonating blocks of complex geometric shapes was considered.
Special attention was paid to projects to minimize the negative effects of explosions: reducing seismic effects with the possibility of increasing the volume of the exploding block and controlling the spread of rock mass pieces while maintaining high crushing quality in the face area. The technology can be used in extreme climatic conditions, including at extremely low temperatures, as well as in mines with difficult mining and geological conditions. In addition, the speaker stressed that the transition to ESI significantly reduces the cost of explosives by reducing the specific consumption of explosives while maintaining the quality of rock mass fragmentation.
The APS BLASTING Symposium is being held for the 6th time and allows the professional community to exchange expertise in the field of industrial blasting and contribute to the further development of blasting technologies in an international format.
