The Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) has implemented modern digital tools in the work of the medical and sanitary units of its enterprises, which has significantly reduced waiting times and accelerated the passage of medical examinations by employees by 30%, while increasing the time for a doctor's consultation. This was announced by Svetlana Tchistopolokhova, Head of TMK's Social management department, at the INNOPROM-2025 International Industrial Exhibition.
At the session "Digitalization and Health: Employee Well-being Management Technologies", TMK presented the results of the healthcare digitalization project, which was implemented in 2022-2024.
"Our task was to make sure that doctors could communicate with patients longer, spend less resources on filling out medical records and correcting information, speed up the process and give employees more time to rest instead of waiting in queues," said Svetlana Tchistopolokhova.
As part of the initiative, a number of technical solutions were implemented at the Seversky Pipe Plant (STZ) in the city of Polevskoye in the Sverdlovsk region and the Taganrog Metallurgical Plant (TAGMET) in the Rostov region. In particular, barcoding of all medical documents, scanning of documents for instant filling of the patient's medical record, voice input of medical data during consultations, description of electrocardiograms, X-ray and ultrasound examinations, and also a non-linear electronic queue were implemented.
"As a result, the patient's stay in medical units was reduced from three to two hours – we have achieved the main goal. At the same time, the workload of the medical staff has not changed, but there is more time for consultation to highlight individual risk factors and tell about the implemented preventive programs of TMK. The waiting time for admission and medical documentation has been halved," Svetlana Tchistopolokhova noted.
According to her, the company plans to use artificial intelligence technology for diagnostics, computed tomography and mammography, to form an individual trajectory of patient treatment and prevention, taking into account preventive technologies.
To improve the health of TMK employees, it develops corporate recreational infrastructure, allocates preferential vouchers to sanatoriums and boarding houses, maintains its own sports base at enterprises, provides subsidies for healthy nutrition, implements preventive programs, including in-depth examination of employees with heart diseases, the TMK No Tobacco project and other initiatives.
TMK has accelerated medical checkups by a third due to digitalization
