Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) has successfully completed the production of the first oil quantity and quality measurement system. The new equipment will be operated at an oil field in the Far North.
This development is a modular installation consisting of several functional units with lines for measuring viscosity, density, water and sulfur content in petroleum products, as well as engineering systems, security and fire alarm systems, and control panels. To ensure trouble-free operation at extreme temperatures, reinforced thermal insulation is incorporated into the product design, and modern heating and ventilation solutions are included in the engineering systems. All processes are controlled and monitored automatically.
The order was made possible thanks to the developments of the ChelPipe engineering center, as well as the inter-factory cooperation of TMK enterprises in Chelyabinsk. In total, eight TMK production units were involved in the implementation of the project.
"The project to create a system for measuring the quantity and quality of oil is of strategic importance to TMK. We have reached a fundamentally new level of solving the tasks assigned to us by key customers — we have not just manufactured products, but mastered the entire chain from design and production to installation and commissioning of high-tech equipment. This successful experience opens up significant prospects for the company in the market of integrated solutions for the fuel and energy complex," said Evgeny Gubanov, Managing Director of ChelPipe, Managing Director of TMK's Mainline engineering division.
TMK's development is characterized by maximum operational readiness and does not require additional commissioning — the modular installation was assembled and tested on the production site, after which it was disassembled again for shipment to the field. This approach significantly reduces the time and risks of construction, installation and commissioning in the harsh conditions of the Far North.
