TMK Steel Technologies, which is part of the mainline engineering division of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), has successfully mastered the production of new equipment for metallurgical production — a steel roll cutter.
The equipment is designed to move rolled steel from a horizontal position to a vertical position and back, which is necessary for further storage, packaging, transportation or feeding of the material into the production line. The weight of the canted rolls can range from 2 to 34 tons, and the maximum temperature is 250 degrees Celsius. Previously, the plant had not manufactured such products.
A special feature of the project was the unusual design of the product and the layout, taking into account the protection of drive units and automation units from high temperatures. The plant's specialists have also developed an assembly scheme that reduces the time and complexity of manufacturing the product. Before shipping to the customer, the tipping machine was tested with a maximum load of 34 tons.
"TMK's mainline engineering division focuses on the development of integrated engineering solutions and develops new types of high-tech equipment. The production facilities and expertise of our specialists allow us to carry out a full cycle of work from design to testing of products that meet the most complex technical requirements of customers. The cantilever has been successfully shipped to the customer, and we are ready to increase the volume of supplies of these products," said Evgeny Gubanov, Managing Director of TMK's Mainline engineering division.
TMK Steel Technologies' portfolio includes several dozen completed engineering projects for various industries, customized for specific customers.
