An exact replica of the world's first car was parked on the Plotinka

In the Historical Park of Yekaterinburg, a unique exhibition area "Time Machine" has begun work, where retro cars from the collection of the UMMC Automotive Museum will be exhibited. For four months, the pavilion on Plotinka will alternately showcase amazing cars of the early 20th century, stylish cars from the 1920s and 1930s, as well as solid executive cars.

Welcoming the audience, Alexander Vysokinsky noted that the exhibition area that has opened today is not an accidental format for Yekaterinburg: “The Urals is an engineering region. And he will preserve this unique quality as long as children come to technical circles and clubs, get acquainted with unique samples of technology, so that they fall in love with this world from childhood, enter technical universities and come to work in production. I think this pavilion will become one of those places where a spark of interest can light up in the hearts of little townspeople, which will further transform talent into high professionalism. After all, the formation of engineers, their way of thinking should begin not at a university at the age of 18-19, when the formation of a personality is almost complete, but from early childhood. And this exhibition is not just a demonstration of museum technology, it is a contribution to the development of the famous Ural engineering school. ”

Today, at the opening ceremony of the roadside exposition, the director of the UMMC Automotive Museum Stanislav Churkin presented the first exhibit - a replica of the world's first car Bez Patet Motorwage. A three-wheeled car with an internal combustion engine, the author of which is the German engineer Karl Benz, was patented in 1886.

“We plan to change the exposure at least once a month. Each car "parked" here will symbolize another period in the history of the automotive industry, step by step bring visitors closer to the present, as well as to the main automotive event of Yekaterinburg in 2019 - the Ural Cup retro rally, said Stanislav Churkin.

This year, on July 13-14, for the first time in the sights of Yekaterinburg and its environs, the route of the official stage of the Cup of the Russian Automobile Federation (RAF) in retro rally - "Ural Cup" will be laid. Large-scale competitions, for which the best Russian riders and crews from abroad are invited, were previously held only in central Russia and have not yet crossed the border of the Asian part of the country.

“I am glad to be at this event, because a big event is happening here now. Yekaterinburg is becoming a real center of attraction for fans of automotive history from all over the country. Last year, the largest in the country Museum of Automotive Technology was opened in the Urals; there are many people here who are keen on retro cars. I think that in the next few months left before the start, interest in retro movement in the region will grow rapidly, "- said at the opening of the exhibition the chairman of the Committee of classic cars of the RAF Andrey Pankovsky.

The necessary atmosphere for a meeting of retro The rally in the Urals will create an automobile festival "On the Move", which was launched by today's presentation of the entrance exhibition "Time Machine". Festival events are planned to be organized at the central venues of Yekaterinburg. Exhibitions, car races, thematic contests will be held right up to the start of the Urals Cup.
