Company metalloinvest, a leading manufacturer and supplier of iron ore products and HBI in the world market, one of the regional producers of high quality steel, took 4-th place in the rating of openness of the mining and metallurgical companies of Russia in the field of environmental responsibility – 2019.
the Company scored the highest number of points in the section "Disclosure of information" and was awarded a diploma "for informational transparency".
the company consistently improves its positions, a year earlier he was sixth, and in the debut ranking of 2017 took 13-th place. For the second consecutive year the Company shows the best result among the enterprises of ferrous metallurgy.
the results of the rating prepared by the world wildlife Fund (WWF) and National rating Agency, was presented on 17 December at the UN office in Russia. The purpose of the ranking is to contribute to reducing the burden on the environment and increase the efficient use of natural resources, and socially responsible business in Russia.

In ranking of 2019 - 41 members, 8 companies were involved in the study for the first time, including 4 gold and 4 coal company.
Rating consists of three sections. "Environmental management" assessing the quality of the control environment in companies. Its criteria are tougher requirements of the Russian environmental legislation and meet best international practices in the mining and metallurgical business.
"the Impact on the environment" reflects the impact of production. For a comparative analysis between the companies used specific indicators, which are translated into high-quality school by comparison with data of last year.
"Disclosure" and appreciates the company's openness in matters of the impact of industrial activities on the environment.
the Method of calculation of the rating improving every year. In 2019 has changed the assessment criteria of the environmental management system: now this parameter is calculated by quantitative indicators and not only on the presence or absence of company environmental management. Added a criterion on the energy production from renewable sources (RES).
With 2019 rating calculation is carried out in the framework of the project "People with nature", implemented by WWF-Russia with support of the EU. Its objectives: forest conservation, reduction of industrial pollution of air and water, increased environmental responsibility of business.
Industry rankings WWF every year is gaining more recognition not only in the business community and the authorities of the country, but also at the international level. Working on ratings are supported by the Program of the UN environment programme (UNEP), the UN development Programme (UNDP) and the Agency for international development, Swedish SIDA.
