A recent trend for MMK is the desire to reduce the share of ordinary product mix and increase the share of more marginal industry grade, which already accounts for about 30% of sales. The company is increasing its sales of long products through its own sales network - OOO MMK Trading House, which has over 30 divisions in Russia, including a production site in Shchelkovo, a service metal center (SMC) in Magnitogorsk, and five warehouse sites in Kazakhstan. Since 2014, the sales of long products by MMK Trading House in Russia and Kazakhstan have grown by 23%: from 315 thousand to 387 thousand tons. The key areas for MMK's long products sales development are the development of new markets and product segments, continuous improvement of product quality, improvement of customer service, implementation of IT technologies and improvement of business processes.
The 9th All-Russian Conference “Long Products and Shaped Products: A New Market Configuration”, organized by the industry magazine “Metal Supply and Sales”, takes place on March 28-29 in Moscow and the Kaluga Region. Its participants are managers and specialists of companies producing, supplying and processing reinforcing and structural shapes, representatives of metal trading companies and SMCs, industrial and construction industries, government departments, research organizations and analytical agencies. The focus of the event is the assessments of the leading experts on the long products production and consumption market in Russia and abroad; sales and investment policy of domestic producers of long products in 2019; new production projects, assessments of markets for the variety in the near future.
