The Kolchuginsky plant "Elektrokabel" (part of the "Cable Alliance Holding", which unites the cable assets of UMMC) has modernized the production site for cables for large power engineering. The total investment for the project has exceeded 60 million rubles.
“We have replaced important units on the screening line. She has been working in the workshop for over 14 years. The load on the line is high, as there are always a lot of orders for medium and high voltage power cables. In order to exclude equipment downtime and maintain the quality of the screen imposition, it was decided to replace the main line element - the stand, "said Mikhail Lisov, head of workshop No. 3 of EKZ JSC.
The stand is a structure, into which the wire spools are installed. The wire, passing through the guides, is applied with a predetermined step to the twisted insulated cable cores. Thus, a screen is created, the main purpose of which is to protect the conductive core from short-circuit currents.
In addition, the line will now have an assistant - a new automated wire coil loader. Previously, the coils were installed in the cage using a hoist one at a time. The new mechanism allows you to set the required amount at the same time. “The automated loader will make it possible to speed up and facilitate the process of reloading the coils, increase the efficiency of the production process and increase labor productivity,” emphasized Mikhail Lisov.
During the modernization of the line, cable shielding was performed on the stranding line in the same workshop, which made it possible to timely fulfill all orders.
“We understand that it is impossible to win the competition without renewing production assets. Moreover, the number of orders for power cables is growing. Consumer requirements for lead times and product quality are also growing. Therefore, we are modernizing the equipment without stopping production, "- said the director of JSC" EKZ "Vladimir Ivanov.
It should be noted that in the fall of 2018, a line for applying a shell was installed in workshop No. 3, and closer to the New Year there is a new conveyor for moving drums with cable.
