Verkhnyaya Pyshma (Sverdlovsk region)
Last Saturday, about three hundred high school students attended the Open Day of the UMMC Technical University in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. After a welcoming meeting with the leadership of the university, a tour of the academic building and the research center began, where students have laboratory classes. Visitors were shown examples of interactive lessons - virtual tours of the processing plant, metallurgical workshop, plant power plant.
On this day, university students organized several sites for active interaction with guests. For example, in one of the auditoriums, a cinema was equipped to watch videos from student practice and skits. A student theater studio with a master class on stage speech and reincarnation worked in the lobby of the third floor, and on the fourth floor one could play table tennis all day, especially since it was April 6 that was celebrated as World Table Tennis Day.
Everyone could see the hostel of a technical university, located within walking distance. In terms of comfort, it is more like a hotel. The rooms and kitchen units are equipped with everything you need, on the ground floor there is a cozy relaxation room for homework and independent work, as well as a well-equipped gym. Not far from the university and the hostel is the UMMC Museum Complex (museums of military and automotive equipment), the Palace of Culture, the Sports Palace with a swimming pool, a park with fountains, a theater is being built.
More than 90 applicants will come to the first year this year, sent for training by UMMC enterprises. In addition, the university has opened its doors to applicants from other companies.
The educational process at the UMMC Technical University takes place with full and constant interaction with enterprises, developing the skills of a future engineer at existing production facilities in the process of practical training and internships with individual mentors.
