A new cooling tower for circulating water supply "Rosinka-50/60" has been installed in the power shop of the "Production of polymetals " JSC "Uralelectromed " (an enterprise of the UMMC metallurgical complex) to replace the outdated .
- The previous installation for cooling the compressor units of the oxygen station of the tower-type power plant has worked at the enterprise for 60 years and has exhausted its resource, - said the head of the power department of the branch Oleg Kostkin.
The cooling tower is connected to the circulating system water supply. With the help of atmospheric air, water is cooled in it, which is subsequently used to cool the compressor equipment of the oxygen station. It ensures the uninterrupted operation of air treatment systems to obtain high-quality oxygen, which is used in the mine smelting department of the metallurgical workshop, as well as for repair work in the workshops of the enterprise and contractors.
The unit consists of several zones, which allows efficient cooling of the technical workshop water. With the help of a fan, a strong air flow is injected into the cooling tower and at the same time water enters, which is intensively cooled in the sprinkler. Then the water flow is directed to the aftercooling zone and flows by gravity into the drain line.
At present, the cooling tower is installed and operates in manual mode. It is planned to install an automation system, which will ensure the operation of the equipment in automatic mode.
