Verkhnyaya Pyshma (Sverdlovsk region)
Two hundred people took part in the writing of "Total dictation" at the Technical University of the UMMC. The conference hall of a private engineering university has become the largest venue for the action in the Sverdlovsk region.
The author of the dictation this year was writer and literary critic Pavel Basinsky. He chose Gogol's poem "Dead Souls" as the main material for his composition. To read the text of 267 words, the UMMC Technical University invited the chief conductor of the Sverdlovsk Academic Theater of Musical Comedy, Honored Art Worker of Russia, laureate of the Golden Mask Prize Boris Nodelman. The maestro did an excellent job with an unusual task for a musician. Not only his voice, but also professional gestures helped him to convey the intonation nuances of the text.
Mr. Nodelman himself saw the dictation for the first time an hour before the start of the action, but managed to prepare for the correct reading. Let us add that before the beginning of the dictation, the famous "dictator" held a creative meeting with the students of the TU UMMC and the theatrical community of Verkhnyaya Pyshma. As it turned out, football helps the 72-year-old conductor to regain strength: he is a passionate fan of Barcelona.
The work on the dictation at TU UMMC lasted an hour and a half. All two hundred works were submitted for inspection. The youngest participant in the action at the university was 8, the most mature was 80 years old.
The check showed that at the UMMC Technical University only the work of Ekaterina Shilkova was written with excellent marks (this manuscript will undergo an additional check in Moscow). Twenty-eight papers were rated “good”. According to the inspector, most often the protesters made punctuation errors. A particular difficulty was caused by the cases of punctuation between the subject and the predicate, pronounced nouns, but complicated by an introductory word or particle ("Plyushkin and even" a hole ... "- no comma), as well as a colon in two non-union sentences of this dictation (" She is calculating , but, unlike Plyushkin, she is not stingy: I fed ... ”Here the second part explains what the first says, and the colon sign is not variable). The leaders of spelling mistakes are the words "the same " (written separately, because here it is a pronoun with a particle) and "the old fashioned way " - a noun with a preposition, which the vast majority for some reason wrote with a hyphen.
The participation of the UMMC Technical University in the All-Russian action" Total dictation "is becoming a tradition. “The Russian language is our introductory subject, along with physics and mathematics,” commented Vyacheslav Lapin, director of the TU UMMC. - But even without this formal reason, we pay tribute to the native language as a means of developing a person's communication skills and imaginative thinking. Both are extremely important for the education of good engineers, successful work in a team. ”
