Alapaevsky District (Sverdlovsk Region)
200 pensioners who worked at the enterprises of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company in the Sverdlovsk and Kurgan Regions drove into the comfortable rooms of one of the best sanatoriums in the Urals - "Samotsvet", which is located in 130 km from Yekaterinburg, not far from the city of Alapaevsk.
Honored workers of the Shadrinsky Automotive Aggregate Plant, Uralkabel, Safyanovskaya copper, Svyatogor, Sredneuralsky copper-smelting plant and a number of other enterprises of the holding will undergo sanatorium treatment for two weeks. Among the rest are former machinists, roller operators, welders, electricians and many others. A unique social project was implemented on the eve of the 20th anniversary of the UMMC.
- I would like to relax, of course. The nature is beautiful in the Urals. Well, the back would be treated. My garden will soon begin. We need to work, but the back does not give, - says the veteran of labor Pyotr Krivko, who has worked in the copper-smelting shop of SUMZ for 43 years.
By the arrival of the production veterans, doctors have developed a course of health procedures aimed at treating diseases of the musculoskeletal system and the respiratory system, as well as the cardiovascular and genitourinary system.
Mud therapy is the cornerstone of recovery. Sanatorium "Samotsvet" is located in an ecologically clean area near Lake Moltaevo - a source of unique sapropel muds saturated with calcium, iron, magnesium, bromine, iodine, potassium and many other useful substances.
- The most common diseases in elderly people - the musculoskeletal system, when the spine, joints and muscles hurt. In these cases, our mud has an analgesic and healing effect. Patients feel an improvement in their well-being for another two to three years, - notes the acting chief physician of the sanatorium Vasily Berezenko.
In addition to mud baths, production veterans will be able to undergo an extensive range of physiotherapeutic procedures and massages, as well as a course of health showers and baths ... Pensioners suffering from diseases of the musculoskeletal system will be sent to physical therapy classes.
