Shadrinsk Automobile Aggregate Plant JSC (an enterprise of the UMMC machine-building complex) has produced the first PDM14-UMMC Ferrit LHD with a carrying capacity of 14 tons. - The fourteen-ton machine is a continuation of a large development project production of the entire line of mine equipment, which has not been produced in Russia until now, - said Alexander Fomin, Advisor to the Technical Director of SHAAZ JSC. - At the beginning of July the first such loader was presented by our partner - the Czech company Ferrit, and now a month later the work in Shadrinsk was completed. PDM14-UGMK can transport up to 14 tons of bulk cargo over short distances. The loader is designed to work in low-profile underground mines and on large lifting workings, it can be used in the construction of tunnels and earthworks.As Alexander Fomin noted, in terms of its technical characteristics, the joint product of Ferrit and ShAAZ is a complete analogue of well-known world brands. The machine has a classic layout for this type of equipment - articulated frame, rear engine layout, side cab layout. Supplier of a 375 hp diesel engine. became Cummins Kama (a joint venture between KAMAZ and Cummis Ic), the chassis was supplied by the Belgian company DANA Spicer.
The new loader differs from its ten-ton brother PDM10-UGMK not only in a larger bucket capacity, but also in other characteristics - the PDM14-UGMK is more powerful and overall and ten tons heavier, its mass is almost forty tons. In addition, the closed cab allows the installation of heating and air conditioning systems, which significantly improves the working conditions of the driver. Another difference of the new machine is the ability to control it remotely. In cases where there is a potential danger to a person, the operator can stay at a safe distance of 20-30 meters and use the remote control to control the actions of the machine in the same way as when inside it: the joysticks on the remote control and in the cab are identical. The remote control system includes cameras for tracking the movement of the machine, the operator receives the image from them on the monitor on the control panel. - Mine equipment has to work in difficult conditions and stressful conditions, therefore, at all stages of production, special attention is paid to quality issues, - emphasizes the quality director of JSC SHAAZ ”Andrey Byakov. - We conduct a daily analysis of the work of PDM at the enterprises, maintain constant contact with the specialists of Ferrit and the service organization "SibTransService", we carry out maintenance. In a word, we accompany the machine throughout its entire service life. Currently, PDM14-UMMC is sent to the Uchalinsky mining and processing plant. It is at this enterprise of the raw materials complex of UMMC that the loader will work after running tests and training of specialists. Recall that the investment project for the production of loading and haul-off machines at the Shadrinsky Automotive Aggregate Plant was presented by UMMC at the International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM 2018. The visual embodiment of the project was a model made on a scale of 1:10. And already in November 2018, the first PDM10-UMMC Ferrit was released. Since the launch of the project, Ferrit and SHAAZ have jointly produced nine LHDs with a carrying capacity of 10 tons. “The project for the production of LHDs at the Shadrinsky Automobile Unit Plant is developing,” notes Alexander Fomin. - By the end of 2020, we have to produce two cars with a carrying capacity of 10 tons and one more with a carrying capacity of 14 tons. In parallel, a seventeen-ton machine is being designed, its release is scheduled for next year.
In general, the enterprise plans to reach its design capacity to produce up to 50 units of underground equipment per year, including LHD with a lifting capacity of 10, 14 and 17 tons, as well as mine dump trucks.
