Kolchugino (Vladimir region)
Kolchuginsky "Elektrokabel" (part of the Cable Alliance Holding, which unites the cable assets of UMMC) has mastered the production of fire-resistant fiber-optic cables for signal transmission over long distances, which are mostly in demand in in the petrochemical and gas processing industry, these products can be operated in the event of a fire for at least an hour and a half. This is achieved due to special structural elements: the twisted core has an additional winding with glass tape, and the outer sheath is made of halogen-free material with increased fire-fighting properties. "Industries working with oil products and gas make high demands on the fire safety of cables. In this connection, we have developed and successfully mastered various versions of products: with low smoke and gas emission, not emitting halogenic acids during combustion, and fire-resistant with a service life of 25 years, "said Alexander Polimonov, head of the communication cables bureau of EKZ JSC. one feature of the new product is the presence of metal armor in the structure, which can be tape or wire. This greatly expands the possibilities of using the cable, including in moving soils, seismic zones. It can be laid both indoors and outdoors, on overpasses. These cables have already received certificates of conformity in the field of fire safety. It should be added that EKZ produces optical cables with fiber only from the best world manufacturers. “Today, the production of communication cables - both fiber-optic and copper conductors - within the Cable Alliance Holding is focused on EKZ. At the same time, a significant part of the technological equipment is used for the production of both communication cables and other product groups, in particular, control cables. This makes it possible to plan a uniform load of equipment throughout the year, to reduce the production cost and ensure competitive prices, ”stressed Evgeny Sukhodoev, director of the Kolchuginsky plant.
