The visit took place as part of the minister's working trip to Beloretsk, the program of which included a visit to the city-forming enterprise - Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant.
General Director of the Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant Sergei Fedorov spoke about the progress of the implementation of a new investment project for modernization of steel wire rope production using the best available technology. As part of the project, new drawing equipment will be installed and the plant's treatment facilities will be reconstructed. BMK plans to complete this project in 2023. Investments will amount to about 1.5 billion rubles, half of which is a concessional loan from the RF Industry Development Fund. The development of the project will allow the mill to reach a new level in ensuring environmental safety and the quality of its products.
Then the delegation members were shown a new production of multi-strand ropes, including import-substituting ones with a polymer coating. The launch of the equipment: a cable car and an extrusion line for covering the ropes with plastic - took place in December 2018. The project was implemented with the support of the Industry Development Fund of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan. This allowed BMK to master the production of multi-strand ropes with the number of strands from 6 to 12 and with a diameter of up to 90 mm and to cover them with a polymer that guarantees high strength and durability of the products. Such ropes are in demand in the oil and gas and mining industries, bridge and shipbuilding. And already today, test batches of BMK's ropeway novelty are supplied to domestic consumers and to countries of the near and far abroad.
“I am pleased to get acquainted with the most modern rope production in the country. Today, it is simply impossible to do without such import-substituting products, which the domestic industrial sector desperately needs. And this is a confirmation that the sale of these products is planned far ahead. In addition, today we discussed with the leadership of the Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant the implementation of a new large investment project to modernize the steel wire and rope production and considered options for its state support from the republic. The most important thing is that the plant has ideas on how to develop further. And I am absolutely sure that together we will solve all the issues ", - commented the Minister of Industry and Innovation Policy of the Republic of Belarus Alexey Karpukhin.
