A new EKG-20 excavator with a bucket volume of 20 m3 has started to work in the open pit of the Lebedinsky Mining and Processing Plant (part of the Metalloinvest company). The modern production machine was purchased as part of Metalloinvest's investment program to modernize the mining and transportation complex.
The new EKG-20 is easy to operate and highly maneuverable. The operation of the equipment is controlled by an electronic control system, all data are displayed on the information panel in the cab. The driver can track the weight of the transported cargo, the trajectory of its movement, the serviceability of the main systems, units and mechanisms. An external video surveillance system is installed on the excavator to ensure safe loading operations. The cab is equipped with an air purification system and climate control.
“As of today, this is the sixth excavator of this class in the mine,” said Andrey Titov, Chief Engineer of the Lebedinsky GOK. “In conjunction with heavy-duty dump trucks with a carrying capacity of 220 tons, they form highly efficient complexes for the transportation of rock mass.”
