JSC "Uralmekhanobr" was recognized as the BIM leader in the category "Industrial design" based on the results of work in 2020. This status was awarded to the institute at a regular meeting of the BIM leaders club, organized by the initiative of Autodesk, an authority in the field of information technology and the world's largest supplier of software products for computer-aided design.
The reason for assigning such a high status to Uralmekhanobr "Was a scrupulous analysis of the Institute's activities in the field of application and development of BIM technologies, the level of projects being developed, as well as the number of employees working with the use of BIM.
- Three-dimensional design of industrial facilities using BIM technologies Uralmekhanobr Institute began to develop in 2017, - said Andrey Dementyev, Deputy Chief Engineer for Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Automation of Uralmekhanobr JSC. - Currently, we have made significant progress in this process. Today we develop several very large projects at once in the BIM environment, in the rest BIM technologies are used partially. We have worked out the technology of integrating models of mining and geological information systems (Micromie), which made it possible to design in BIM not only the surface objects of the deposit, but also the underground part of the mine.
We also add that the Uralmekhanobr institute systematically conducts a target training project staff to work with BIM technologies. So, by the end of 2020, the number of people with the skills of working in the BIM technology environment exceeded 60% of the total number of designers, which is about 190 people.
