Uralmekhanobr will look at quarries in 3D

The Uralmekhanobr Institute has acquired a new RIEGL VZ-2000i laser scanner. It is produced in Austria and is rightfully considered one of the best in the world.

Three-dimensional laser scanning has been carried out by Uralmekhanobr JSC since 2012. The main task of the equipment is to ensure the safe, uninterrupted operation of mining enterprises. The scanner provides timely detection of deformation processes in the sides of quarries, as well as on the earth's surface. Based on the data obtained, specialists take measures in advance to prevent accidents and keep mining facilities in working order.

The scanning distance and accuracy obtained when testing the Riegl VZ-2000i scanner provide remote detailed scanning of the open pit, exclude uncontrolled and critical changes that could result in mine suspension and costly clean-up. The characteristics of the Riegl VZ-2000i scanner allow you to ensure the safety of the personnel conducting the survey, as it allows them to conduct it at a safe distance. The purchase of a Riegl VZ-2000i laser scanner allows to increase the number of monitored objects, as well as increase productivity by more than 30%. The cost of the scanner is about 20 million rubles.

“In the near future, we will have to undergo professional training to work with this machine. We are confident that thanks to the new equipment, we will be able to perform our tasks even more skillfully and efficiently. I would like to express my gratitude to the management of the company for the opportunity given to us. We work on the best equipment on the market today, "- Pavel Koltsov, head of the laboratory of the mining science department, shared his plans.
