At the Mikhailovsky mining and processing plant named after A.V. Varicheva (part of the Metalloinvest company), the Shantui SD52-5 bulldozer started to work. This is the most powerful equipment in the manufacturer's lineup and the heaviest tracked vehicle in the plant's autotractor control: its weight is almost 70 tons, engine power is 612 horsepower, and the blade height is more than 2 meters.
“The new bulldozer has a higher performance than the machines already in service,” explained Gennady Potapov, head of convoy # 3 of the MGOK autotractor department. “Due to its power and dimensions, it shifts the rock mass, which was shipped by the 240-ton BELAZ, in 3-4 cycles, while lighter vehicles need to do 5-6 approaches for this”.
The new bulldozer is involved in the acceptance of rock mass at transfer points and in the construction of roads in the quarry. In tandem with high-performance dump trucks and excavators, which regularly replenish the plant's fleet as part of Metalloinvest's investment program for the development of a mining transport complex, the heavyweight will significantly increase the efficiency of mining operations.
The bulldozer meets all European and Russian standards, provides a high level of safety and comfort. The cabin is sealed, with circular glazing and protection against ingress of rocks. Equipped with climate control and soundproofing. The driver's seat is anti-vibration, it is regulated by a number of parameters.
Machine control is fully automated: electrical systems make gear shifting, turning, lifting and lowering the blade. High ground clearance, stable chassis system, long grip length give a heavy machine the ability to easily adapt to different geological conditions. The modular design of the bulldozer will allow you to quickly carry out, if necessary, disassembly, repair and maintenance.
