OJSC “BMZ” - the managing company of the “BMK” holding began supplying a new type of product - stainless steel pipes. Currently, the company is working on the implementation of the first agreement for the production of an industrial batch of these products. According to the existing agreement, over 1000 tons of pipes with a high chromium content will be shipped to the Russian consumer by the end of May.
The active development of offshore oil fields in the world has significantly increased the demand for pipes made of high-chromium steels capable of operating under aggressive conditions. wednesday BMZ, as a supplier for the oil and gas industry, reacted to the changing demand by mastering the production of a new type of product.
& bsp; & bsp; The first rolling of 13Cr type L80 seamless pipes at BMZ was carried out at the end of 2020. The development of the new technology took place in several stages, including the adjustment of all mills of the pipe-rolling shop, as well as the heat treatment modes necessary to obtain the mechanical properties declared by the customer. As a result of the work done, pipes were produced that fully meet the stated requirements of the specification. Already in December 2020, an experimental batch of pipes was shipped to the consumer, and in February 2021 a pilot batch of pipes. After their approval, an agreement was reached on cooperation on an industrial scale.
& bsp; & bsp; At present, the BMZ pipe-rolling shop is capable of producing more than 500 positions of carbon steel pipes. Now the list of manufactured products includes pipes made of high-chromium stainless steels. At the end of the first quarter of 2021, BMZ exported over 32 thousand tons of pipes, which is almost a third more than in the same period of the previous year. The leaders in the consumption of these products are the EU countries and the Russian Federation.
