Specialists of Sibkabel JSC (part of the Cable Alliance Holding, which unites the cable assets of UMMC) have developed a new cable design with a reflective effect. It is provided by wrapping the casing with special reflective tapes.
The new design of the HoldMie trademark will be especially in demand in the mining industry. The luminous sheath makes the excavator cable more visible in the dark, which prevents its mechanical damage during open pit mining.
“This cable is widely used, it is designed for particularly difficult operating conditions and is clearly visible from a long distance, which allows you to exclude a run over by heavy equipment, - explained the head of the department for the promotion of promising groups of the checkpoint Konstantin Kharitonov. “The new design has passed all the necessary tests and confirmed excellent physical and mechanical properties.”
According to him, the new development allowed not only to improve the characteristics of cable products for miners, but also to take another step in solving the problem of import substitution .
“When developing a new cable, domestic materials were used, which in many respects are similar to imported analogs. However, the price of such a product is almost two times lower, "added Konstantin Kharitonov.
Other advantages of the new design are its safety, reliability and long service life. The cable sheath has increased wear and tear resistance, which is also important for working in mines.
