In the metallurgical shop of Svyatogor JSC (an enterprise of the metallurgical complex of UMMC), a planned overhaul of converter No. 1 has begun. Ilnur Iskhakov, senior foreman of the converter department of the metallurgical shop of Svyatogor JSC. - Refractory workers, technologists of the metallurgical shop and specialists of the assembly section of the repair and mechanical plant of the enterprise were involved in this work. Also involved in the repair were the mechanical and electrical service of the metallurgical workshop, representatives of the power workshop and the instrumentation workshop. This was followed by the installation of newly manufactured metal structures - support rollers, a casing, a tuyere collector, a dust cover. After that, it was the turn of the installation of the refractory masonry on the inner surface of the converter. “The team of refractory workers of the metallurgical shop will have to lay about 100 tons of refractory bricks of the PKhSU brand (periclase-chromite refractories) produced by the Magnezit group (Satka, Chelyabinsk region),” Ilnur Iskhakov explained. - At the same time, more than 10 standard sizes of this material are used in the work. According to the approved schedule, the end of the repair is scheduled for June 4. The list of measures within the framework of the overhaul also includes the installation of a water cooling system, cleaning the dust chamber, cyclone group and gas duct. According to experts, these measures will improve the efficiency of the equipment after putting it into operation. Upon completion of all repair work, the converter will be put on heating according to a separate schedule.
