Mill 5000 MMK celebrated its 10th anniversary

Such complexes as a camp of 5000 can be counted on one hand in the world. And there are probably no complexes of such a high technological level in the world, "- said Vladimir Putin.

Mill 5000 is a key element of MMK's complex for the production of plate products, including the mill 5000 itself, an out-of-furnace processing complex and continuous casting machine No. 6. Contract with the German engineering concern SMS-DEMAG for the supply of equipment for the mill, Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works signed in November 2006. The mill produces highly profitable plate with a width of up to 4850 mm with a strength category of up to X120 for the oil and gas industry, shipbuilding, bridge building and machine building. Mill 5000 has a capacity of about 1.5 million tonnes per year. Today this unit, built according to the most modern technologies of the world mechanical engineering, produces high-quality and competitive products that are in demand in the implementation of the largest infrastructure projects of the Russian fuel and energy complex, the construction of ships of various classes, in bridge construction and other industries.
