Artem Akinfiev has been appointed Director for the production of rolled tubes of the Severstal Russianstal division - General Director of the Izhora Pipe Plant (ITZ, part of PJSC Severstal).
Artem Akinfiev was born in 1977 in Cherepovets. Graduated from Cherepovets State University with a degree in Hoisting and Transport, Construction, Road Machines and Equipment. He began his career at Severstal as a repairman in the coke-chemical production of the Cherepovets Metallurgical Combine. From 2008 to 2015, he worked at the Promservice Center (a repair asset of Severstal), where he worked his way up from the foreman to the head of the service department (CSO) of the by-product coke production. In September 2015, he was appointed head of the CSO Severstal - Long Products Plant Balakovo. Since January 2017, he worked as a senior manager of the production process improvement service at the Promservice Center. From May 2017 to July 2019, he was the General Director of JSC Severstal - Long-Range Plant Balakovo.
Under the leadership of Artem Akinfiev, who has the necessary managerial and professional competencies, as well as extensive experience in metallurgy, the enterprises of the Kolpino site of Severstal will continue to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, expand the product line and develop customer service in line with the company's updated strategic priorities.
Dmitry Pokrovsky, who headed ITZ until July 2019, continued his career path outside Severstal.
