PJSC Severstal, one of the world's leading vertically integrated steel and mining companies, has passed the initial verification of the automatic control system for pollutant emissions into the air from sintering machines No. 10, 11 of the Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant (CherMK).
How Evgeny Vinogradov, the general director of the Severstal-Russian Steel division and resource assets, reports that the control system has been installed in the coke-and-blast furnace production of CherMK and has already been registered in the unified register of measuring instruments.
The system was verified by the Federal State Unitary Enterprise All-Russian Research Institute of Metrology DI. Mendeleev ". As a result of the procedure, the accuracy indicators, the interval between verification of the measurement system, as well as the verification procedure were established.
The purpose of the installation of an automatic control system for the composition of waste gases is the operational control of the sintering technology in the agglomeration shop No. 3 of CherMK. Measurements of technological parameters and concentrations of substances specific for the production of iron ore sinter are carried out online. Until recently, these parameters were controlled by instrumental methods by employees of a specialized organization.
The new equipment includes the installation of gas analyzers, dust meters, sensors for determining the flow rate of the gas-air mixture and other related equipment on operating Cherepovets Steel Works sintering machines. A similar system is currently being installed in the Sinter Shop No. 2 of CherMK.
“The measure for the installation of automatic control systems in CherMK's agglomeration shops is part of the national project“ Ecology ”and its federal component“ Clean Air ”. It is included in the comprehensive plan of measures to reduce emissions of pollutants into the air in Cherepovets for 2019-2024, which we are carrying out in full compliance with the implementation schedule and the strategic goal of the company. Let me remind you that it consists in reducing CherMK's emissions by 66,800 tons, which will be 22.5% of the 2017 indicator, when the national project was launched, "commented Yevgeny Vinogradov.
