About the situation with coronavirus in the Zaporozhye city hospital No. 6
Patients with coronavirus infection are being treated at Zaporozhye City Hospital No. 6. Most of the patients arriving here are in a state of moderate severity. Some patients require oxygen support. The director of the hospital Petr Ryzhenko spoke about how things are now here.
According to Ryzhenko, the hospital has 200 beds for patients with coronavirus. As of today, 46 are occupied. There are practically no especially serious patients. Only 2 people are in intensive care. Some patients here are being treated for viral pneumonia, and some are experiencing the consequences of an exacerbation of chronic diseases. The main feature of the new wave of the disease is the course of the disease. Even in the presence of inflammatory processes in the lungs, some patients do not have respiratory failure. The disease is treatable, although it proceeds sluggishly. Oxygen masks are still needed for some patients with breathing problems. According to the medical director of the Zaporozhye hospital No. 6, the scenario with COVID-19, which was in the fall, will not happen again. Although the staff of the medical institution is ready for any scenario.
Fire in Zaporozhye and rescue of a pensioner
On February 5 of this year, the fire department received a message about a fire in one of the five-story buildings. Rescuers arrived at the scene promptly and inspected the fourth floor. The sources of ignition were pieces of furniture and various things. A 69-year-old woman was evacuated from the balcony of the 5th floor. She could not leave the walls of the house because of the heavy smoke inside the room. The woman's health is not in danger. The owner of the apartment, an 80-year-old woman, was injured. Because of this, she was unable to leave the house on her own and get outside.
According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Zaporozhye, the fire was completely extinguished at 7.30 am. Strong smoke in the apartment led to the fact that firefighters had to work in compressed air apparatus.
