Specialists from the “Institute-Nova” have presented the results of their latest research to the public. The experiments were carried out with the aim of applying natural fibers in the field of mechanical engineering and production. The work of scientists was published in a 57-page publication in the form of a scientific work entitled "Carbon footprint and stability of various natural fibers for biocomposite and insulation materials."
The study was first conducted in 2018, but it took time to get more reliable results. The update was released in March 2019 using new information on the processes regarding the supply of hemp to Europe and Kenaf in Bangladesh.
According to representatives of the organization, natural fibers such as flax, hemp, jute or kenaf have been successfully used in large quantities in the automotive and mechanical engineering industries to reinforce plastics. These substances have a much lower carbon footprint than their glass and mineral fiber counterparts.
