Finnish stainless steel manufacturer Outokumpu has announced that it will supply its environmentally friendly stainless steel under the Circle Green® brand to French rolling stock manufacturer Alstom.
Starting in 2026, Alstom will receive the first shipments of Circle Green®. Stainless steel Green®, with 93% lower carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere than the global industry average. Consequently, Alstom will use this steel in its latest generation of Metropolis subway cars. The cooperation will help the French company to reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere during the production of goods and services by 30% by 2030.
