ArcelorMittal Germany has appointed Thoralf Winkel as executive director of its Hamburg plant effective July 1.
He replaced Monica Bo, who is leaving the company at the end of August to face new challenges, Callanish said in a statement. Bo became CEO of Hamburg only last November.
Winkel started working at the ArcelorMittal plant in Bremen in 2001. From then to 2017, he held various positions, including leadership positions. Most recently, he became the head of the Bremen subsidiary of BRE.

The only direct cast iron recovery plant in Europe, the Midrex module with the longest service life, has been operating at the ArcelorMittal plant in Hamburg since 1971.
