Wuppermann Metalltechnik (WMT) has inaugurated a new pipe factory at its site in Altmunster.
The new production line makes it possible to produce products with a significantly wider range of sizes on site. It allows you to produce products of complex and individual geometry with an increased cross-section up to 130 mm and a thickness from 1.0 to 4.0 mm. This makes it possible to produce special profiles with complex cross-sections that can withstand structural loads.
All pipes and profiles are available with an etched, galvanized or zinc-magnesium surface. High-strength steels such as DP800, DP980 and 22MnB5 are used for applications with particularly high requirements for bending stiffness and torsional strength.
According to Wuppermann, this flexibility opens up many new application possibilities, including in workshop equipment, conveyor technologies, complex structures in the steel industry and mechanical engineering, as well as in the photovoltaic industry.
In July 2023, the Wuppermann Group of Companies, headquartered in Leverkusen, Germany, announced an investment of 40 million euros ($47 million) in the construction of a new pipe plant.
100 precast reinforced concrete columns were installed on the hall area of 8,860 m2. To ensure climate-neutral heating in the future, WMT has installed geothermal sensors with a total length of about 5,000 meters. The first pipe was produced in July 2025, and in the fall, work was completed on commissioning the rolling mill and internal cleaning of the pipe.
