Makeevka Coke Plant increases production volumes

The Makeevka Coke and Chemical Plant (MKKhZ), which is part of the YuGMK holding, is increasing production volumes despite the fighting in the Donbass. This is reported by the Donetsk News Agency (DAN).

“Makeevsky coke plant is one of the city-forming enterprises. Before the war, 2,730 people worked here, now 1,670 have remained. The full-cycle enterprise has 13 main shops, such as a coke shop and a shop for capturing coke chemical products (CHPK),” Oleg Mostovoy, chief engineer of the Moscow Chemical Plant, is quoted by DAN.

The enterprise has already increased the production of blast-furnace coke from 600 to 800 tons, which will amount to more than 18 thousand tons in a month. The first and second coke batteries are fully operational, the third and fourth are partially loaded

The shipment of MKHZ products goes to the Yenakievsky Metallurgical Plant, also controlled by YuGMK.

YUGMK is the company of Russian businessman Yevgeny Yurchenko. Today, the control of this company, in addition to the Enakievsky Metallurgical Plant, includes the Makeevka Metallurgical Plant, Makeevkoks, YaKKhZ and the Komsomol Mining Administration in the DPR, as well as the Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works, the Lugansk Casting and Mechanical Plant and the Stakhanov Ferroalloy Plant.

YUMMC expects that this year the metallurgical and coke-chemical enterprises that are under its control will reach their nominal capacities.
