In the past six months, five Chinese steelmakers have placed orders for eight new Danieli Zerobucket electric arc furnaces. This was reported in the press service of the Italian manufacturer of metallurgical equipment.

Qiananshi Jiujiang, Hebei Puyang, Tangshan Zhongshou, Changshu Longteng and Zhejiang Yuxin have relied on Danieli's Zerobucket electric steelmaking technology for their new melter investment.

They all chose Danieli's original Horizontal Continuous Scrap Loading System, which ensures smooth, endless loading of hot scrap through ECS preheating, reducing CO2 emissions by several times.

Danieli Zerobucket EAFs are the most versatile smelting plants, allowing the use of a wide range of charge mixtures such as pig iron, DRI, HBI and scrap.

They can handle up to 80% iron charge, replacing BOFs and getting outstanding results in terms of short melt times, increasing the overall productivity of the steel plant.

All furnaces will be equipped with Danieli automation systems, including advanced Q-REG electrode controller with profile optimization.

The kilns ordered will have capacities ranging from 210 to 330 tph and are expected to be operational between late 2022 and early 2023.
